Xming is a small and fast X-Windows Server for Microsoft Windows.
But even though it is small - it is still simple to use and has the full set of features your would see in commercial products. Used together with PuTTY Xming can be used one remote hosts only accessible through SSH (using X11 forwarding).
When it comes to OpenGL support Xming ships in two versions - one with OpenGL support and another based on MESA (a software OpenGL implementation).
Xming can run in full-screen mode or multiple windows mode (most common) - but also in a single window with or without title bar.
All in all Xming is a great open source alternative to the commercial and often expensive X-Windows servers on the market.
Xming is the leading free unlimited X Window Server for Microsoft Windows (XP/2003/Vista). It is fully featured, small and fast, simple to install and because it is standalone native Microsoft Windows, easily transported [WWW]portable as a Pocket PC X server (i.e. no slow Linux API emulation wrappers and mounts).
Xming is totally secure when used with [WWW]SSH and optionally includes an enhanced PuTTY Link SSH client and a portable PuTTY replacement package. Xming can work completely independent of the Window's registry when used with Xming-portablePuTTY.
